At the recent Annual Parish Council meeting, I was elected the new Chair of the Parish Council for the coming municipal year, and would like to thank my Parish Council colleagues for bestowing upon me this honour. I would also like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere thanks to the former Vice Chair; Councillor John Ballman, who, took up the Chair’s reins upon the sad death of our colleague, Councillor Des Moffatt, leading the Parish through some difficult months, especially with the Coronas Virus outbreak.
As I undertake this privileged role as Chair, I look forward to building upon the good work that so many have done in developing the Parish since its creation in 2017. Which has seen:
As we move forward there are plans for a new sporting hub at Moredon and further improvements to our street cleaning and grounds maintenance programme. We are also committed to upgrading the various children’s play areas across the parish. We also have a committed aim to ensure that all of these facilities and services will be affordable and accessible to our Parish residents.
When the Parish was set up, there was a foundational aspiration that we will be a people-focused organisation. We exist for the people of our Parish. With this in mind I want to encourage the best possible engagement between the Parish and the Community we serve. We couldn’t do any of our work without the positive and vital working relationships and partnerships that we have with Community organisations and their respective management bodies.
If you look at our list of Councillors, you will see we are fortunate to have a group of very committed and service conscious people serving as your elected representatives. We are supported by a dedicated team of 11 Officers, and I would like to put on record my thanks for their hard in making your Parish Council such a success. I would also like to offer residents an open invitation to the Council meetings and through the gathering of the council raise questions and concerns. For more information you can contact the Parish through the Parish Office on 01793 466499. Or email email@example.com
As Chair, I will be glad to hear from you and if you require assistance, I will always seek to be as helpful as possible. My contact details are:
